Andrew Darker – Director of Golf

Andrew is a fully qualified British PGA Professional. He joined the team in 2003 and brought with him a wealth of experience in all aspects of golf operations from previous positions in both the UK and Middle East. Andrew has continued to focus his personal development and is now proud to lead the golf team with more than 40 full-time employees.

Leontine Fleischer – Sales Manager

Leontine is originally from Holland and started working at Aphrodite Hills in 2008 in the Golf Division as Golf Sales Manager, promoting Aphrodite Hills Hotel, Aphrodite Hills Residences and Aphrodite Hills Golf.

David Stone – Head Of Golf Services

A proud Cornishman, David joined the Aphrodite Hills Golf team in March 2007 as the ‘Supervisor’ to the Caddy Masters team. The Caddy Masters ensure a golfer enjoys their golfing experience, whilst remaining within the constraints of the game and its etiquette boundaries. In 2014, his role changed to Head of Golf Services, a position, that saw his customer services and team management skills brought to the fore, whilst still encouraging the Caddy Masters to maintain their expertise in daily golfing operations.

Chryso Iasonos – Golf Memberships & Marketing Executive

Chryso joined the Aphrodite Hills Golf Team in 2013 and since then has shown a true passion for marketing, social media and branding. She truly enjoys capturing the joyful moments that take place at the Golf Clubhouse and course and shares them with the larger golf community around the world. Chryso is a highly motivated and a creative professional who enjoys applying her skills and knowledge to the various areas of marketing and management, as she promotes Aphrodite Hills Golf to the local and international market.

Joanna Willsher – Golf Reservations

Joanna joined the Aphrodite Hills Golf Team in 2011 after moving to Cyprus from the UK. She began in the Proshop, and quickly moved to reservations in 2013 where she thrived. Joanna enjoys working closely with people and will always offer an outstanding customer service to our guests

Stephanos Stephanou – Golf Retail Co-Ordinator

Stephanos has worked at Aphrodite Hills for 5 years and has over 30 years of work experience in the retail sector – consisting of 20 years as a Store Manager of Tesco PLC and 10 years as Warehouse Manager for Dreams PLC and SCS Furniture. He started with Aphrodite Hills in 2013 as a Caddy but as his experience was in retail Stephanos was asked to oversee the retail shop.

Mark Cole - Assistant Superintendent

Mark is 27 years old and from Manchester, England. At 16 years old, he began working in Golf Maintenance and from then until now has had some fantastic opportunities working at different golf courses in the UK. Moving to Sweden, Mark became a Deputy Course Manager and has also worked at one of the top golf courses in New Zealand. From 2013, his role has been Assistant Superintendent at Aphrodite Hills Golf, PGA National Cyprus.

Danny Heard - PGA Golf Professional

Danny Heard became a PGA member in 2003 after excelling in many sports in his teens. He has an impressive playing record and has built a good coaching reputation in Cyprus after moving to Aphrodite Hills in 2009. Along with Giles Johnson he has helped grow the Aphrodite Hills Academy into what it is today, with 4 coaches working on a full-time basis. He believes in treating each pupil as an individual and would like to continue to help golfers of all nations learn the game.

Giles Johnson - Director of the Golf Academy & PGA GOLF PROFESSIONAL

In early 2003 Giles was given the opportunity to become Senior Teaching Professional at Aphrodite Hills after previously working at prestigious Golf Clubs in the UK and Germany. Giles helped set up Aphrodite Hills Golf Academy and training facilities alongside PGA Qualified Golf Professional and Director of Golf Andrew Darker.

During the first 7 years Giles built up both the Golf Academy and its reputation promoting golf within Cyprus to clients throughout Europe and numerous other countries. Following the success of the Golf Academy, in 2010 Giles was given the opportunity to form his own company ‘GD Golf in the Sunshine Ltd.’ with his business partner and fellow PGA Professional Danny Heard. ‘GD Golf in the Sunshine Ltd.’ and its team of 5 staff took over the Golf Academy and driving range operation and now provide a first-class training and learning environment to all clients at Aphrodite Hills Golf Resort.

A quotation and goal of Giles some 10 years ago – “I wish to promote the game of golf throughout the island and produce a future golf champion from Cyprus through our Junior Golf Academy, to compete with the world’s best tour professionals”.

This goal is now well on its way to becoming reality with the 50 strong junior golfers attending Aphrodite Hills Junior Golf Academy.

Robert Reynolds - Golf Professional

Robert Reynolds started playing golf at the age of 13 and by the age of 18 had turned Professional. During his junior and amateur years, he played golf at Aphrodite Hills Golf Resort and for 3 years in a row was the ‘Junior All island Winner’ and for 2 years was ‘Runner-Up’ in the Cyprus Men’s Open. In 2016 / 2017 Robert joined the British PGA and will be going through his qualifications over the next few years.

At the age of 18 he moved to the UK to pursue a playing career as a Professional Golfer where he played on tour for just over 1 year. In this period of time he also worked in a large European Golf Store as a Club Specialist where he started learning about custom fitting. Robert’s vision is to complete his PGA Qualifications to become a full time Teaching Professional at Aphrodite Hills Golf, where he hopes to have a long and successful career in Cyprus providing his golfing expertise and knowledge of the game as Player and as a Coach to all of his clients.

Scott Beaven - PGA Golf Professional

Scott Beaven has been in the golf world for most of his life; his first 20 years were spent playing, whilst the last 7 have been dedicated to golf coaching and the long drive.

Scott’s tuition is always conducted with the individual in mind. Each student is carefully analysed in order to get the most out of each session. Scott calls on an extensive technical knowledge of the golf swing, as well as many years of research and experience to get the best results for his students. Scott has a fantastic reputation as one of the most knowledgeable and attentive coaches around today and is one of the key figures in developing Aphrodite Hills thriving junior set-up, as well as helping Members to improve and holidaymakers to have fun.

In May 2017, Scott won his 2nd European Open Long Drive Championship which was held in Gothenburg, Sweden and completed the successful defence of his European title. Scott adds this to the European Long Drive Championship he claimed in September 2016 and the 2014 Scandinavian Long Drive Championships. Scott has qualified for the last 4 World Long Drive Championship finals held in the United States. In 2013 he finished inside the top 24 in the world, while in the 2015 finals he recorded the 4th longest ball of the competition and a personal best of 422 yards.
